Can-Jam Motorsports Short Block / Long Block Warranty Information, Terms & Conditions
Can-Jam Motorsports takes pride in the quality of its
engineering, manufacturing, and assembly processes. Accordingly, Can-Jam
provides this Limited Warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship
for its short block and long block engines, subject to the terms, limitations,
and conditions set forth herein.
This Warranty applies solely to defects arising from
materials or assembly and covers the repair or replacement of affected
components, including associated labor, as determined by Can-Jam in its sole
discretion. All claims under this Warranty are contingent upon full compliance
with the requirements described in the following sections.
Warranty Coverage
Can-Jam Motorsports offers two levels of warranty coverage:
- Standard Warranty: 6 Months / 10,000 Miles (16,100 Kilometers)
- Dealer Enhanced Warranty: 1-Year / 20,000 Miles (32,200 Kilometers)
(Available only when installed by a Can-Jam Motorsports Certified Dealer)
Standard Short Block / Long Block Warranty Limitations
- Warranty Commencement. The Standard Warranty period begins on the date the engine is delivered to the purchaser.
- Scope of Coverage. This Warranty applies exclusively to short block and long block engine assemblies that are manufactured and assembled by Can-Jam Motorsports. No other products or components are covered.
- Excluded Components. This Warranty does not apply to any other engine components, turbochargers, accessories, ancillary systems, or the vehicle in which the engine is installed. It also does not cover any damage to such components or to the vehicle resulting from engine failure.
- Shipping Responsibilities. The purchaser is responsible for all shipping costs associated with returning the engine or assembly for inspection. If a claim is denied, return shipping from Can-Jam back to the purchaser is also the purchaser's responsibility.
- Excluded Reinstallation Costs. This Warranty does not cover labor costs for engine removal or reinstallation, nor does it cover fluids, gaskets, seals, or any other parts required to reinstall the engine following repair or replacement.
- Professional Installation Required. Coverage is valid only if the engine was professionally installed. The purchaser must provide verifiable installation receipts as a condition of warranty consideration.
- Non-Transferability. This Warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser of the engine assembly.
- Component Manufacturer Warranties. Individual components incorporated into Can-Jam engine assemblies may carry separate manufacturer warranties. Any such warranties are governed solely by the respective manufacturers and are not the responsibility of Can-Jam.
- Customer-Supplied Parts. No warranty is provided for any components supplied by the customer, whether or not such components are incorporated into the assembly.
- Claim Initiation. The purchaser is solely responsible for initiating any warranty claim with Can-Jam Motorsport and must do so in accordance with Can-Jam Motorsports claim procedures.
- Inspection Costs for Invalid Claims. If a claim is determined to be invalid, the purchaser agrees to pay all teardown, diagnostic, and inspection costs incurred by Can-Jam.
- Maintenance Records. Proof of proper and timely maintenance—performed in accordance with Can-Jam’s guidelines—is required for warranty consideration.
- No Extension of Warranty Period. Any repair or replacement performed under this Warranty does not extend or restart the original warranty period.
- Engine Registration Requirement. Warranty coverage is contingent upon the purchaser completing the Can-Jam Motorsports Engine Registration Form provided at the time of purchase.
- Engine registration is required via the Can-Jam Motorsports Engine Registration Form provided within 15 days of purchase
Dealer Enhanced Warranty Limitations
- The Enhanced Warranty applies exclusively to engines sold and installed by a Can-Jam Motorsports Certified Engine Dealer.
- Coverage begins on the date the completed vehicle is delivered to the customer, as documented on the Dealer / Installer’s invoice.
- The Purchaser must register the engine using the Can-Jam Motorsports Engine Registration Form within fifteen (15) days.
- This Enhanced Warranty covers only short block or long block assemblies manufactured and assembled by Can-Jam.
- This Warranty does not apply to other engine parts, accessories, or the vehicle itself, nor to any resulting damage caused by engine failure.
- All shipping costs to and from Can-Jam for inspection remain the responsibility of the purchaser.
- For approved claims, this Warranty includes limited labor reimbursement for engine reassembly and gasket replacement.
- Coverage is available only when the engine is purchased, tuned, and professionally installed by the same Certified Dealer, with receipts provided.
- This Warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.
- No warranty is provided for any customer-supplied components.
- All claims must be initiated through a Certified Dealer.
- The purchaser agrees to pay teardown and inspection costs for denied claims.
- Proof of proper maintenance is required for claim consideration.
- Any repair or replacement performed under this Warranty does not extend the original warranty term.
Warranty Exclusions
The Can-Jam Motorsports Short Block / Long Block Warranty does not cover:
- Damage due to improper installation, negligence, abuse, alteration, or accident.
- Insufficient or improper engine break-in procedures, including oil changes.
- Damage caused by improper tuning, including detonation, pre-ignition, or excessive cylinder pressure (evident through melted pistons, scuffed skirts, or damaged head gaskets).
- Damage from improper clutch or transmission installation, including thrust bearing wear.
- Damage caused by lack of maintenance, contaminated oil, or failure to maintain proper fluid levels.
- Failure caused by defective or contaminated oiling components such as pumps, coolers, pickups, or banjo bolts.
- Damage due to fuel or oil contamination, lean conditions, over-revving, overheating, or oil starvation.
- Damage caused by external component failure (fuel injectors, sensors, water pumps, etc.).
- Damage caused by foreign objects, water ingestion, or debris entering the engine.
- Damage caused by vehicle collision or shipping damage.
- Any economic loss, including towing, rental costs, downtime, or inconvenience.
- Engines lacking proof of professional installation or replacement of oiling components.
- Engines with altered or disconnected odometers.
- Any damage to external components (turbocharger, wastegate, etc.) resulting from engine failure.
Standard Warranty Claim Procedure
All standard warranty claims must be initiated directly with Can-Jam Motorsports.
To file a claim:
- Complete the Engine Inspection Request Form (provided by Can-Jam Motorsports).
- Email the form and your original purchase receipt to sales@canjammotorsports.com to receive a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
- Once issued, return the engine to Can-Jam Motorsports for inspection.
- The purchaser is responsible for all shipping and handling costs to and from the facility.
- Upon receipt, Can-Jam Motorsports will disassemble the engine to determine if failure was caused by manufacturing, assembly, or component defect.
- After inspection, Can-Jam Motorsports will determine if warranty coverage applies.

Enhanced Warranty Claim Procedure
All Enhanced Warranty claims must be initiated by a Can-Jam Motorsports Certified Engine Dealer.
Procedure:
- The Certified Dealer will contact Can-Jam Motorsports to obtain an RMA.
- The engine must be removed and returned to Can-Jam Motorsports for inspection.
- The purchaser is responsible for shipping and handling costs to and from Can-Jam Motorsports.
- After inspection, Can-Jam Motorsports will determine warranty eligibility.
- If denied, the puchaser is responsible for all labor and shipping costs associated with removal and reinstallation.
Important Notes
- Warranty registration is required for all engines.
- Proof of professional installation and maintenance must be available upon request.
- Customer-supplied parts are not covered under this warranty.
- Warranty coverage applies only to the original purchaser.
- All warranty decisions are made at the discretion of Can-Jam Motorsports Management.
